This was a photo-shopped image of a jaguar that I placed into a forest river. I brought the photo shopped image into illustrator and live painted it. I was taking a course on Mesoamerica at the time and was inspired by what I learned in that class for the narrative of this piece. In Mesoamerican jaguars are see as powerful creatures that are able to travel back and forth between the underworld and water is seen as a gateway to the underworld - which is where I got the title from. I positioned the jaguar to look straight at the viewer to encourage that theme of power and fear already associated.

This is a Photoshop hybrid creature - photos hoped into a Photoshopped blended landscape. A lot of photoshop basically. I brought the image over into illustrator and live painted - not because it was required of the assignment but because I really like the kind of coloring and texture live pain gave to it.

This was an assignment where we had to come up with and create covers for children's books. I photoshopped a grizzly bear and teddy bear into a forest and positioned them where the light was hitting. I then brought the photoshopped image into illustrator and live painted it. I further adjusted the coloring on the bear's fur, changing it from the original grey tones to a more honey color to create a more whimsical feel. The idea behind it is that the grizzly bear is the spirit of the teddy bear and he represents the courage within children's heart - which sounds cheesy but when a child holds their favorite toy I feel like it gives them more courage so thats where I got the idea. The title Mod is the name of the bear and it actually means courage.

This is a vector apple. I took a picture of an apple and in photoshop I created a path around the apple using the pen tool. I added more paths where there were differences in color and then filled each path with the colors sampled from the original apple image.

I first created a black and white photoshopped image that was supposed to follow a horror theme. Once done I had to print out the image and then using that image trace/ copy it onto another piece of paper in black ink. Once the ink copy was completed it was scanned into the computer and then opened in illustrator. I set the background color to white, and then created multiple closed paths for the image, working from biggest paths to smallest. After creating the paths I filled them black - the smaller paths inside of the larger paths remained the same color as the background which they were supposed too. The purpose of doing this was to create a vector shape in illustrator that could be readjusted in size and not have to worry about pixelations/ image quality. .

This was a cartoon character face that I coded in Adobe Dreamweaver. The original assignment had been to make a face but I actually misunderstood and instead of making an emoji face, which is what we had learned in class, I went and coded a face based on the cartoon design of the Loud House. I had a lot of difficulties and in the end, I couldn't get the colors to show up properly, but I really like how the character itself came out and I'm pretty proud of what I was able to accomplish.
